Xanthosoma sagittifolium (Tannia or arrowleaf elephant's ear) is a flowering plant which produces a starchy edible corm (underground root-like stem). The corm usually has a thick brown or yellow-brown skin with white, yellow or even pinkish flesh. Besides the corm, its young leaves are also consumed. It is used in Puerto Rican cuisine as yautia in paste form.
